Writing
I have been asked more than a couple of times when did I start to write.
I forgot.
I just remember I got into it more seriously during CEGP's (in)famous Friday Poetry Nights at the Pepin headquarters. Then, my puny efforts got the most vicious of creamings from the then already established poets from UP and La Salle. But those sessions were almost always over bottles of beer. So I did not take those rejections too seriously.
But I began to be more careful.
I also remember, in my first-ever Creative Writing class, our professor (who announced she was a writer of sorts) was explaining what it takes to be a good writer. She said: "One must be a little crazy, like I am."
From the back of the class, I said loudly: "YESSSS MA'AM!"
